Priced as low as $0.75, the jacks have been designed to provide the utmost protection for both the user and the test equipment, and are rated to the International Safety Standard IEC61010-031 to 1,000V CAT III P2.
Ideal for use in a wide variety of industrial, medical, control, electronic and electrical applications, Cal Test’s new family of Safety Banana Jacks are manufactured from the highest quality materials, meet the latest United
States and European safety standards, and are covered by Cal Test’s unique one-year warranty.
The Panel Mount Safety Banana Jacks features a threaded body and panel nut and offers an extremely secure assembly. The Push-In version utilizes a “push-in” body and is quickly pressed into a pre-drilled mounting hole. Both styles are offered with eight (8) attachment methods:
-
Threaded 4mm stud with 2 nuts
-
250 Faston® Tab Terminal (.250 inch)
-
3/4-inch long pin
-
1/2-inch long pin
-
2mm solder hole
-
Threaded 3mm hole (no screw included)
-
187 Faston® Tab Terminal (.187 inch)
-
Forked solder terminal
Each attachment method is available on both mounting styles of Safety Banana Jack; each having its own unique part number. Each part number is available in 10 body colors, for a total of 160 part numbers, creating a matching a product for almost any requirement. For example, Model CT 2244-5 would be a green push-in jack with the 2mm solder hole, prefect for a ground lead attachment point.
Both styles of safety jacks accept standard 4mm banana plugs with the surrounding or sheath insulation such as commonly used on digital multimeters (DMMs). These plugs are identified as safety because the metal contact spring of the plug is covered by the insulation sheath and cannot be touched. The user is protected from “hazardous live voltage” by this insulation. Safety jacks are sized to accept the
banana plug’s outer plastic sheath. Even if the plug is partially inserted, the metal is covered and enough distance is created so that an over-voltage arc will not “creep” from the metal plug along the surface of the insulation and reach the user.
Priced as low as $0.75, all Safety Banana Jacks come with Cal Test Electronics’ one-year warranty and are available for immediate delivery.
